Our foil stand up pouches with zip closures and a one way degassing valve are
laminated with the highest quality and consistency which provides the ultimate barrier
protection against UV lighting, moisture, and oxygen. These foil stand up pouches have a
three layer construction coupled with high barrier characteristics, ensuring that your
coffee, tea and other stored items will experience an extended shelf life.
We considered offering the bags that are clear on one-side so that it is easy to see what
is inside. Upon learning that not only did this not provide protection for light sensitive
items like coffee and tea it also provided a lower level of protection from moisture and
other elements, we quickly dismissed that idea.
We recommend using valve bags especially when you are shipping or storing darker
roasted coffees. Paper bags, even when lined will become stained with oils from the
coffee. Our foil bags do a great job of locking in all of those fresh roasted aromas. They
are even better than airtight containers including glass since the CO2 from fresh roasted
coffee helps to remove the oxygen via the degassing valve.
Prior to closing the bag, squeeze out as much air as possible and the CO2 will take care
of the rest for you. Do not use valve bags for storing ground coffee as the grounds will
foul the valve resulting in a less than optimum seal.
